Bridewell Studios and Gallery

Artist studios in a former Victorian police station near the Royal Hospital, running since 1976.

About this studio

A studio group set up in 1976 in a former police station built around 1846, on the corner of Prescot Street opposite the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The Grade II listed building currently hosts 35 studio-based artists and craftspeople working in painting, stone and wood sculpture, jewellery, stained glass, textiles, printmaking, ceramics and metal. Original features including a row of cells are still visible, and there is a gallery for exhibitions.
